MISALIGNED MIND is currently a three piece rock band fronted by Zack Wiesinger who is responsible for the lead vocals and electric guitar work. Jarrod Tracey provides the thick, extra low bass notes and backup vocals. David Katonik brings the gruesomely groovesome beats with his gold sparkle analog acoustic drum set. Relying on zero computers, MISALIGNED MIND hits the stage with their real instruments and voices pumped through lots of vintage and custom engineered tubed amplification. With an overall sound that is sonically compatible to many classic rock groups of the late sixties, the material, however, that they choose to perform live in front of their growing crowd of enthusiastic fans is a majority of original compositions devised by Zack Wiesinger. Prior to forming MISALIGNED MIND in MMXV (2015), Wiesinger became known for winning the Albert King Award in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN for “most promising guitarist” in MMVI (2006) and shortly after, went on tour as solo opening act in Europe and USA for legendary guitarist Steve Vai’s String Theories Tour and was included on the accompanying DVD and Vinyl releases. For quite some time, Zack and Jarrod had a revolving position for drummer and even recorded an experimental misaligned mind album at Capitol Studios in Hollywood with hired gun Greg Bisonette, but Bisonette was on call for Ringo Starr’s All Star Band. So, there was an album, but no available drummer for live shows. Then David Katonik sort of came out of early retirement and is now the official drummer. Zack and David used to jam in church and had a local band many years ago under various names according to who was in the group. Guitar Zack and No Slack- and- Guitar Zack and The Daves. Mostly bar gigs, those formative shows were half original songs and half covers ranging from zappa to james bond to hendrix to beatles and Zepp... MISALIGNED MIND will still do the occasional random cover during their longer performances, but with an ever growing catalog of XL (40) plus original songs, they have played countless shows relying solely on their own material and the audiences always seem to enjoy themselves and leave the shows with a smile and sometimes even a souvenir record or t shirt to further enjoy at home or wherever they are in space and time for that matter.
